Funded by a prestigious grant from the National Science Foundation, author Lisa H. Weasel, Ph.D. set aside three months every year for five years to live and work with the key players in the GM food debates and construct the storyline that makes up her new book, Food Fray: Inside the Controversy over Genetically Modified Food (AMACOM 2008).

Dr. Weasel has credentials as a scientist and scholar, and has been honored for her creative approaches to writing and teaching about science in its broader social and political context.
